AUTOMATION AND COMMUNICATION
Automation and Communication begins with Programmable Controllers or PLC. Coupled with a touchscreen display or HMI they provide the operator with an interactive and direct means to control pump function, control ancillary equipment and review station functional history and alarms.
The operating program of the PLC in the HFE PROCESS Station is designed to allow the station operator to adjust station operation to local conditions or preferences. Installed devices such as pressure transducers and variable speed drives can also be scaled or operated from the display screen.
Communication is a feature more common in today's pump stations. Systems can b installed to signal alarm or operating conditions to remote sites and individuals by voice or text messaging.
SCADA integration or a pump station and its operation into a network is offered by radio, telephone, cellular and ethernet links.
